| Publisher info: Physicists (U. of Oslo) Grimnes and Marinsen became frustrated at the amount of time and effort they had to expend to find the basic information about bioimpedence, and so produced an introductory textbook for graduate students in biomedical engineering and biophysics. They draw from the several disciplines that are needed to explain and explore the subject, and use a unified set of terms. Their emphasis is on systems with galvanic contact to the tissue, not so much on the interaction between tissue and electromagnetic fields and waves. They keep their treatment down to one volume by excluding magnetism, limiting themselves to sine wave and step function variables rather than embarking on a more general treatment by the theory of Laplace transforms, and limiting the number of application examples.
